Ok lately I've been thinking about how we deffine visionary art... the dictionary says this:
vi·sion·ar·y Audio pronunciation of "visionary" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (vzh-nr)

2.
1. Having the nature of fantasies or dreams; illusory.
2. Existing in imagination only; imaginary.

2. Given to daydreams or reverie; dreamy.

1. Not practicable or realizable; utopian: visionary schemes for getting rich.
2. Tending to envision things in perfect but unrealistic form; idealistic.
Since a lot of my friends are often put into this category {eithier by themselves or others} I was wondering how you would deffine a visionary artist, what is the goal of the visionary artist, and how it differs from cliche new-agism or old age surrealism?
Does visionary mean psychedelic? Does it agree entirely with the dictionary deffinition?
I think this is a good thing to think about. Let me know what you think
